Shaikh Q, Ahmed was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His father is from Bangladesh and his mother is from the Dominican Republic. He oved to Michigan in the summer of 2012, to Southfield, Michigan where he attended Oakland community College for my Liberal Arts Degree. However, He am now an upper junior at Wayne State University. Currently, He is double majoring in Education (concentration in English) and Arabic. Due to his diverse background and educational experiences, he has been part of many student organizations, and worked for educational facilities. In Al-Madinah High School, He was part of the Islamic Study debate team, as well as a 1st place winner in Quran competitions. He is now the president of the student organization: Interactive Diversity, interim vice president of, El Salón de Nuestra Cultura, and an active member of the, Muslim Student Association, all at W.S.U. Furthermore, He work for a non-profit educational facility: Abu-Bakr Al-siddique Islamic Center. Q teaches both elementary and advance Arabic. A priority goal to accomplish this year is, transforming Wayne State’s diversity environment. By engaging everyone on a macro-scale with one another, we can improve academic environment, deteriorate stereotype and initiate new perspective. This will be accomplished through means of working with student organization and faculty. An interactive diverse environment is my goal for this academic year.
